Best Management Practices

   Thursday – January 20 - 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.

Program Description:  Ring in the New Year with GCSAE’s annual “Best Practices” program, one of the most popular and well-received programs of the GCSAE meeting year for the past several years.  It’s an event where we can all learn from our peers how they are addressing key association services and management issues we all face every day.  This year’s “Best Practices” will feature four presentations followed by a question-and-answer session to continue the dialogue.

This program qualifies for 1 CAE and CMP credit.

PresentationsCorinne Allie, Social Networking Specialist at Positively Cleveland will discuss the applications and benefits of social media in membership organizations for marketing conferences and for other communications.

Frank Sulen, Chief Financial Officer of NACS Inc., will speak about how NACS uses its subsidiaries to create non-dues revenue, while strengthening the membership value proposition. Frank was recently featured in an article in the November issue of Associations Now magazine.

Bill Lavezzi, Executive Director, North Eastern Ohio Education Association, will provide tips on how to run successful board meetings.  You’ll learn how to advise your board and its chairman on parliamentary procedure to avoid some common pitfalls and increase understanding and effectiveness.

Ed Stevens, President and CEO of Stevens Strategic Communications, will discuss what to do when your association or member companies are facing a crisis and how to effectively handle media, outside parties, regulators, etc.

Target Audience:  All association and industry partner executives and staff members, marketing and communications professionals, and invited guests who are responsible for developing concepts and strategies for their organization’s print communications.

Advance Registration: $35.00 for members, $45.00 for non-members

Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the event. Cancellation after that time will be billed for the full registration fee.
