Strategies for Creating More Effective Print Communications Peter E. Toomey, Toomey & Friends Advertising Barbara Balogh, Great Lakes IntegratedThursday – November 11, 2010 - 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. Sheraton Cleveland Airport Hotel, 5300 Riverside Drive, Cleveland, OH 44135 Program Description: Despite the trend to digital communication, print is still a key component in the marketing strategy of many organizations. Focusing on two key elements -- what you say and how you say it -- this program will help you learn concepts and strategies for planning, designing and developing effective AND cost-effective print communications. What You Say: It will help you determine who your target market is (“Go fishing where the fish are.”), how to target your message to them and steps to improve your message. How You Say It: You will learn rules to make mailers better, multiple media strategies to improve effectiveness and how to expand your thinking beyond simply print. This seminar qualifies for 1 CAE and CMP credit. Speaker bio: Since the 1970s, Peter has been learning better ways to communicate with large numbers of people – one at a time. Since 1992 he has been the head of a virtual agency providing full-service-agency advertising and marketing support to mid- and moderate-sized companies. Prior to that, he was in advertising and promotion with Meldrum & Fewsmith Advertising, Leaseway Transportation and Republic Steel. Peter is past president of the Cleveland Chapter of The Business Marketing Association and a Certified Business Communicator (CBC). He will be partnering in the presentation with one of his “Friends,” Barbara Balogh, account manager, Great Lakes Integrated, long one of the premier printers in Northeastern Ohio, now expanded into a full-spectrum communications firm.
